Solid win for the Jazz, as they win 99-82 on their home floor. They really helped their chances by shooting 53.5% from the floor, to 35.9% for the Pistons. It was enough of a blowout for Flop & Mo Nuts to get some action. Koufos, AK, Brewer & Price all had solid nights; ‘Sap saw his double-double streak end while playing only 22 minutes, and Deron still can’t buy a shot.
Player of the Game
—> Mehmet Okur: He absolutely dominated his former team yet again. He scored the first 8 Jazz points (and 11 of the first 14), and finished with 15 points in the first quarter on his own. He finished with 22 and 6, and went 8-9 from the field, including 3-3 from the 3-point line. He didn’t even attempt a FG in the 2nd half, due to a combo of foul trouble & blow-out benching-ness.

Jazz/Pistons Tonight Leave a comment
The Jazz host the Pistons tonight… some quick things…
Still no news on the Booze injury, and Ronnie Price is going to start at the 2-guard instead of Morris Almond, as had originally been rumored.
The Pistons are coming off of a win last night in Denver (before that, a win in Clipperland and a loss in Portland), as they finish off their 4 game road swing tonight. They could be without Rip Hamilton & Rasheed Wallace… though they have won 8 of 9 without the 2.
That’s it really.

Jazz/Pistons… Leave a comment
So there’s totally a game tonight. And I totally forgot about it (or didn’t care?), given that after coming home from work after the insane snow storm (and it’s still snowing), I went to bed and just got up. Yikes!
Anyhow, it’s a bit past half-time. The Jazz/Pistons are tied at 50. Brewer & CJ were both in the starting line-up tonight, though CJ played just 5 minutes in the first half.
Random fact… the Jazz have played 4 more games than the Pistons so far this season. Utah & Portland have played the most games so far this season (27), while other teams (read: Washington) have only played 23 or so. Another big FU! to the Jazz by the NBA.

Oh, and there’s Booze talk all over the interwebs. I don’t even think I care anymore.
Nuggets/Pistons Make A Deal Leave a comment

No, this isn’t Jazz news. But it still impacts the Jazz in some ways. The Nuggets & Pistons completed a trade today, as Allen Iverson ended up in Detroit, and Chauncey Billups, Cheik Samb & Antonio McDyess found themselves going to Denver.
The Nuggets needed a PG, and they just found one. The Pistons, on the other hand, now have 2 SGs (AI & Rip… who just got an extension), and no real PG (unless Rodney Stuckey is ready to lead them).
There has also been talk of McDyess getting waived. If that happens, I think the Jazz should go after him. Flop is expendable (or Almond, it seems… if you can trade him for a pick), and McDyess would give the team a much better option inside than anyone we have (save ‘Sap, of course).
Good deal for both teams. It makes the Western Conference playoff race that much tougher.
